INGREDIENTS
1 1/4 (315 ml) warm water
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp dried yeast
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 cups wholemeal or white flour ( I like half and half)
milk
METHOD
Dissolve the sugar in the warm water, then sprinkle in the yeast. Add oil and stir gently for a few seconds. Leave to stand for at least 5 minutes or until the yeast has begun to bubble and looks foamy.
Mix the baking powder and salt through the flour before adding to the yeast mixture.
Stir everything together until the dough forms one large ball.
Turn out onto a floured board and knead for approx 5 minutes adding more flour to the dough if necessary.
Divide into 12 and form into rolls.
Place rolls on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Brush tops with milk and bake at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes.
